Olivia Weitz is a print journalist and radio producer based in Boise, Idaho.
She produces a radio series on folk artists in Idaho for Boise State Public Radio and the Idaho Commission on the Arts’ Folk and Traditional Arts Program.
In the spring of 2017, she graduated from the Transom story workshop on Cape Cod. Prior to that, she attended the University of Puget Sound.
As a print journalist, she covered county government and wrote about environmental topics such as water and land issues for the Idaho Press-Tribune. But, favorite stories were regional tales about carp fishing.
Her radio work has appeared on community radio station, Radio Boise, and on dozens of public radio stations around the Pacific Northwest through the Northwest News Network, where she’s contributed since 2015.
She is inspired by the way sharing voices over the radio can reflect a region’s personality while also inspiring reflection and change.
